Meet the owner & Kali

Hi, I’m Kathyleen, and this is Kali.

Kathyleen, the owner of Blissful Sphynx Cattery, holding Kali

Kali is my playful, energetic, and affectionate Sphynx girl. Caring for her every day inspired me to begin building Blissful Sphynx Cattery.

Kali free-roams at home rather than living in a cage. I feed her Royal Canin and leave food available for her to graze. This is Kali’s current routine; each future cat’s care will be guided by their own needs and veterinary advice.

Kali is the face of Blissful, but she will not be part of the breeding program. You can follow her everyday adventures at @kalithesphynx. I’ll introduce our future breeding cats when the time comes.

The heart behind Blissful

Why I’m starting this cattery.

Kali made me fall in love with the Sphynx for who they are, not just how they look.

I want families to feel prepared for life with a Sphynx and to know the care and history behind the cat they bring home. That starts with thoughtful planning long before a kitten is available.

As I develop the program, I’m seeking guidance from experienced breeders, learning about pedigrees and health screening, and planning for the daily care of future breeding cats. I’ll share confirmed milestones as they happen.

The lotus in our logo reflects the patience and care I want to bring to every step.

The standards I’m working toward

What responsible breeding means to me.

A breeding decision should begin with the cats’ welfare. Appearance matters far less than health, sound planning, and the quality of life each cat has before and after a litter.

Health before a pairing

I plan to review pedigrees and family health histories, discuss relevant genetic testing with a veterinarian, and make breeding decisions with the wellbeing of the cats in mind.

Heart screening matters

Sphynx cats have an increased risk of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). My plan includes veterinarian-guided heart screening with echocardiograms for future breeding cats, and follow-up over time. A clear result reflects the day of that scan; it cannot guarantee a cat will never develop HCM.

Care beyond the litter

A healthy environment, veterinary care, enrichment, gentle handling, and socialization all matter. I’m planning for the day-to-day needs of the adults and kittens, not only the moment kittens go home.

Honest placement

Future families should understand their kitten’s health and care history, what is included, and the terms of placement in writing. I intend to keep records and communicate openly as the program develops.

Our breeding program is in development. No kittens are available or being reserved at this time.

FUTURE KITTENS · PET ONLY

Companions are the heart of this.

When Blissful’s breeding program is ready and kittens become available, placements to pet homes will be pet only, with no breeding rights. I may consider breeding rights only for an established Sphynx breeder, case by case, under a separate written agreement.

Each future kitten will go home with a starter kit and a blanket, along with written information about their health and care. I want families to understand the commitment of living with a Sphynx and feel supported in bringing one home.

Planned kitten rates will start at $2,500. Final pricing and what is included will be confirmed when kittens are available.

The program is still being developed. We are not accepting kitten reservations or deposits at this time.

Accessories & More

A little more Blissful at home.

I’m developing handmade clothing for Sphynx cats, original cat trees, and toy kit bundles with treats. These images preview the vision; designs, contents, and ordering details will appear here as they become available.

Preparing for a Sphynx

What life with a Sphynx asks of you.

Kali has shown me how much personality comes with this breed. If you’re thinking about welcoming a Sphynx someday, these are some of the things worth preparing for.

Time together

Sphynx cats are often social and curious. Plan for daily play, attention, and a home that gives them places to explore and settle near you.

Skin and grooming

Less fur does not mean no grooming. Learn your cat’s skin, ear, and nail care needs, and ask your veterinarian about a routine that suits that individual cat.

Warmth and comfort

Soft resting spots and a comfortable indoor environment matter. Clothing may be useful for some cats, but fit, comfort, and safe supervision come first.

Health planning

Budget for routine veterinary care and unexpected expenses. Ask about a kitten’s health history and the parents’ heart-screening records; a clear heart scan cannot guarantee a cat will never develop HCM.

Blissful’s breeding program is still being developed. I’ll share our specific kitten care and placement details when they’re confirmed.

Questions & answers

Planning for a future kitten?

Here’s what we can share while Blissful’s breeding program takes shape. Confirmed litter details and placement terms will be posted when there are kittens.

Are kittens available now?

No. The breeding program is in development, with a goal of late 2027. There are no kittens to reserve and we are not taking deposits.

Is Kali part of the breeding program?

Kali is my Sphynx companion and the face of Blissful. She is not part of the breeding program. Follow @kalithesphynx on Instagram for her everyday adventures.

What will kittens cost?

Planned rates start at $2,500. Final prices will depend on the future litter and will be shared before any reservations open.

When will kittens go home?

The goal is no earlier than 16 weeks, after each kitten’s readiness and veterinary care are reviewed. We’ll publish exact timing and requirements when the program is established.

Will kittens be placed as pets only?

Yes. Placements to pet homes are planned as pet only, without breeding rights. Any arrangement with an established breeder would be considered separately and put in writing.

What will a kitten go home with?

We plan to provide a starter kit, blanket, and written health and care information. The final list of supplies, veterinary records, and contract terms will be shared before reservations.

How will you address HCM?

We plan veterinarian-guided heart screening, including echocardiograms for future breeding cats and follow-up over time. A clear scan cannot guarantee a cat will never develop HCM. We will share available screening records and explain their dates when kittens are offered.

Will kittens be registered with TICA or CFA?

Registration details have not been finalized. We will state each kitten’s registration status clearly before any placement; please do not assume that a kitten will come with registry papers.

Can I join a waitlist or send a deposit?

There is no waitlist or reservation process right now, and we are not collecting deposits. Follow our announcements for any future process and written terms.

Where are you located, and how can I follow updates?

Blissful is being planned in South Florida. Updates will be posted here and on @blissfulsphynxcattery on Instagram. Pickup or travel arrangements will be explained when kittens are available.

When will the clothing, cat trees, and toy bundles be available?

Those products are in development. The images on this site are concept previews, and we’ll share actual designs, prices, and ordering details when they are ready.

An invitation to established breeders

Help shape the first chapter of Blissful.

I’m looking to connect with experienced Sphynx breeders as I build the foundation of this program. I’m interested in a male with breeding rights, a stud arrangement, or an unrelated male and female pair available for purchase. I’m open to discussing a direct purchase, a partnership, or a kitten-back agreement when the fit and terms are right for everyone involved.

If you have a potential match, would like to discuss working together, or are an established Sphynx breeder interested in a future breeding-rights placement, please introduce yourself and share what you can about your cats and program. I’d love to start a conversation.
